Ranchi, June 15: The Military Hospital, Namkum, is going to equip itself this year with many modern gadgets, including a state-of-the-art CT scan machine, hospital authorities said here today at the 60th Raising Day ceremony.
Senior hospital officials stated the CT scan machine would be useful for the armymen and ex-servicemen who, till now, used to go to other hospitals for avail the facility.
Addressing the staff and doctors, the hospital Commandant Brigadier P. Krishnamurthy urged them to be extra vigilant and careful while treating the patients.
Krishnamurthy pointed out that the Military Hospital was one of the biggest establishments in the Indian army.
After an elaborate programme for tuberculosis patients, the hospital will now lay emphasis on respiratory diseases and will help those who are in need for treatment, he added.
The hospital has also lined up a host of programmes and symposiums, in which doctors of the hospital as well as outside will talk on bronchial asthma.
Senior registrar of the hospital Colonel N.K. Gupta told The Telegraph: ?We are laying special stress on tuberculosis. Out of the total strength of 775 beds, 525 beds are only for TB patients. In the past 60 years we have added three ICUs. The hospital also has a dietician.?
As part of the celebrations, a barakhana was also organised on the occasion, in which officers and doctors of all ranks collectively sat for lunch.
A healthy baby show is also scheduled to be organised tomorrow, while there would a symposium on bronchial asthma later.
