Movies are the most popular form of entertainment for the common people. When it comes to movies every person has a different choice.

I like films which mainly deals with action or comedy, and love those which comes with both.

In my opinion there is a lot of sorrow and melodrama in real life.

Therefore, films are there to provide us relief from the monotonous life and bring enjoyment and entertainment.

Last year, many successful action films were made and released. But for me the most successful one was Dhoom.

I was very impressed by the stunts in the film. I had not seen such refined stunts earlier. Dhoom created a wave of excitement among movie buffs.

Recently there has been a lot of comedy films such as Hungama, Hulchal and this year's biggest hit, Kya Kool Hain Hum. These films are absolute entertainers, enjoyed by all, irrespective of age. People enjoy these films since they present an image that is larger than life.

Books are a bore

I enjoy watching TV shows and love going to the movies, but books hold very little appeal for me. My mother says books are ?A man?s best friend,? and so even if I want to, I cannot cast them aside.

All books are equally monotonous and dull but as even in ?dislike? there is an existence of ?like?. So I guess even I could name a few that I like to read.

My favourites are the dictionary and grammar books. One starts searching for one word and comes across many more, ends up learning more. Interestingly presented mathematics and physics- theory books may make me a busy bookworm for hours.

Among storybooks, the simple and lucid language of Ruskin Bond attracts me the most. Rusty the Boy from the Hills and Room on the Roof are my favourites.

Lately I had been a victim of Pottermania, but after a while I found the books were a bit of a let down. The films based on the series are more thrilling. Finally there is the Gita and Old Testament that I wish to read cover-to-cover one day. People say books are a vast ocean of knowledge, but I would like to add that one learns more by examining nature and going out.

Be the best you can

?If I were a cobbler, it would be my pride, The best of all cobblers to be: If I were a tinker, no tinker beside, should mend an old kettle like me.?

These are the oft repeated words by my mother. She is an eternal optimist and hard worker. She says there are no royal road to success but that people should take one task at a time and give that task their best.My mother makes me tough whenever I feel weak. She has taught me the meaning of courage and bravery.

She has also taught me the dignity of labour. Though we may disagree on several matters but at the end of the day she happens to be the closest to me.

Friends Forever

Not a girl, nor a boy,

Neither is it my favourite toy,

My friend forever is my darling dog,

A brat, a pig, the world?s greatest hog.

He chews my toys and scares away the boys,

But is my bundle of pure joy.

On Diwali when I went to light a candle,

And Lo! In the kitchen ?I see him chew my sandle,

I screamed and ran after the canine

but slipped on the floor polished to shine!

I hurt my knees, my elbows and nose,

And decided from now, we would be foes.

But my doggy came and licked my face,

Melting my anger into an embrace.

Of all the doggies in the world,

Mine is the ocean?s loveliest pearl.
