It is going to be a battle of brains, wits and innovation at OJASS-2014, the techno management fest of NIT-Adityapur, which will kick off on Friday.

More than 60 events will test the technical prowess and managerial skills of more than 4,000 students who will fight it out over three days.

The second largest techno-management fest of eastern India, OJASS provides a platform to the students to showcase their technical and managerial acumen, brilliance and far-sightedness.

“The fest provides an opportunity to students to prove their mettle beyond curriculum and course studies. A lot of emphasis is laid on ensuring the quality of the events,” said Rajiv Bhushan, professor-in-charge of NIT-Adityapur (media relations).

The fest has already created a buzz among technical institutes like IIT-Kharagpur, IIT-Patna, IIT-Bhubaneswar, NIT-Durgapur, NIT-Patna, BIT-Mesra, XLRI, IIM-Ranchi and many others, who have already registered.

An array of celebrity guests will also visit the campus.

While actor-turned-anchor Mandira Bedi will share her achievements on Friday, author and motivational speaker Ravinder Singh, whose bestseller I too had a love story is very popular among youngsters, will turn up on Saturday.

Robotics being the most important event, the institute has invited Diwakar Vaish, an expert in this field from New Delhi, to deliver a talk on modern developments.

Narasimha Karumanchi, the author of many books on data structure and algorithms, will also elaborate on practical applications of data structures. His life and achievements have always been a source of motivation for engineering students.

The other events lined up are technical paper presentation, coding, circuit design and simulation. Bizzathlon, the business quiz, will be conducted by legendary quizmaster Barry O’Brien.
