| Ansari: Amid controversy |
Ranchi, March 22: Ranchi police today raided the official residence of Congress MP Furqan Ansari in the Sector-2 area and caught a couple in a compromising position.
Incidentally, the house (OHC-A2) is just next to the residence of Hatia deputy superintendent of police Sambhu Thakur.
The police also recovered some empty liquor bottles from the room. The girl?s purse, confiscated by the police, had some condoms.
A prescription of a pregnancy test conducted this month at a nursing home on the Main Road in Hinoo was also recovered.
Soon after the duo was intercepted, the boy admitted that he had a relationship with the girl and announced to marry her forgetting that their age did not permit them to do so.
The girl, just 16, refused to speak. Both live in the same place, which comes under Jagannathpur police station.
The girl is a school-final student and the boy a B.Com student.
According to the statement of the boy, he took the keys of the house from Azhar Ansari, the nephew of Furqan, who used to live in the house.
?We believe that a group of boys and girls possess the keys of the house,? said Satyaveer Singh, the officer in-charge of the Jagannathpur police station.
?We had noticed some boys and girls coming to the house, but never gave it a serious thought. Today, we stopped the duo when they were about to enter the house. When questioned, they fled giving an excuse. But they entered the house through the backdoor half-an-hour later. We had placed our constables to keep tabs on them,? he said.
?After sometime, the police entered the premises and caught them in a compromising position. The girl is just 16 years old. The boy should be around 20. Both said they knew each other for five months. The boy had taken the girl for a pregnancy test in March. Its report was negative though,? said DSP Thakur.
The police said they were trying to find out more about the allotment of the house and trace the nephew of the MLA.
A doctor of the nursing home where the pregnancy test was conducted on the girl, confirming the duo?s visit to her clinic, said: ?The girl had come here. But I don?t think pregnancy tests are barred or unlawful.?
Furqan, who stays in Delhi, could not be contacted for comment.
