Of the 134 Covid-19 positive patients in Hazaribagh district so far, 115 have recovered, taking the recovery rate to 87 per cent.

The doctors of Hazaribagh Medical College and Hospital (HMCH) said this was due to proper care, good food and medicines administered three times a day.

The doctors said 115 persons had been discharged in phases. “We have only 19 active cases right now and are hopeful of their recovery as well,” a doctor said.

An administrative officer said this was a result of the team effort of nurses, para-medical and doctors.

He said the doctors gave their best to cure a 51-year-old patient in 28 days, which was an example of their “selfless” service to mankind.

The town has two Covid hospitals, including HMCH and a private hospital, HZB Arogyam.

Three other patients who were discharged recently were diabetic and were given the best possible care on their road to recovery.

Civil surgeon Sanjay Jaiswal also lauded the doctors and said their team efforts made it possible.

Officials of the Hazaribagh district administration were lauded for taking all precautions and working strategically to check the spread of the coronavirus.

Led by deputy commissioner Bhuvnesh Pratap Singh, officials kept an eye on the migrant workers coming to the district.

The screening of around 63,000 people was done, including 60,000 migrant

workers.

It was ensured that the migrant labourers were first sent to quarantine centres for 14 days. The district has 241 quarantine centres with 17,690 beds and 23

isolation wards with 433 beds.

The deputy commissioner had formed a team led by a mukhiya in every panchayat to monitor the migrant workers.
