Ranchi, Dec. 26: Two persons died in a road accident near Kathal More on Ranchi-Gumla Road under the Ratu police station this morning.

Police said the victims, Kamal Narsaria, a social worker, and Rohan Kumar Ludhia were going to Gumla in a Tata Safari (number MP20HA 1782). As the car reached Kathal More, a speeding truck (BR23A 3989) rammed into it. The duo died on the spot.

The Ratu police have lodged an FIR and the truck seized.In another incident, a truck collided with a police van near Gwala Toli under Sadar police station. Police have arrested the truck driver and seized the vehicle. A case under Sections 279, 337 and 338 of the IPC has been registered at Sadar police station.

In another incident, one Anil Tirkey, riding a bicycle, was crushed to death by a speeding truck at Garha Toli yesterday. In yet another mishap, motorcyclist Amar Topno died after his motorcycle skidded at Hawai Nagar under Jagannathpur police station today. Some unidentified miscreants burnt three shanties at Chandandih Bazar under Sonahatu police station. A case has been lodged in this connection.

In a incident of loot, unidentified miscreants looted TV, VCD and some

electrical equipmetns from company godown localted at Purulia Road.

Manager of Philips India Limited Tapendu Banerjee has lodged an FIR with

the Lower Bazar police station.

According to Banerjee, the operation continued in the night of December

24-25 during 11.30 pm and 2.30 am. The police are investigating into the

matter.
