Teach them a Bolly chart-buster, learn what a fan dance is.

Students of Graduate School College for Women in Sakchi had a great time greeting 16 youngsters from Seoul, Korea, on Wednesday.

The visit is part of a cultural exchange programme under the banner of evangelical outfit Korea Campus Crusade for Christ and supported by India Campus Crusade for Christ in the country.

During their visit to Graduate School College for Women, Korean youngsters introduced themselves in Hindi. Then, they performed the renowned fan dance.

Getting a warm response, the team also performed Korean folk song arirang, accompanied by a violin and a short bamboo flute. They went on to stage a short play on how teens were losing values and taking drugs. A promotional film on their country was also screened.

Team leader Esther Lee said the aim of their visit was to share facets of their culture and imbibe some from India.

“We are really enjoying our visit. Our friends here taught us a song, Give me some sunshine, from the movie 3 Idiots and I also plan to watch the movie now,” Lee said.

“Our students are privileged they got a chance to see so many diverse aspects of Korean culture. I thank the team,” said Usha Shukla, professor-in-charge of the host college.

The Korean team, here from July 24 to August 12, went to Jamshedpur Co-operative College on Tuesday and will go to Jamshedpur Women’s College on Thursday.
