Coalbelt students shine in ICSE, ISC

Dhanbad/Bokaro, May 20: Beginning of May brought smiles when Shubhra Saxena topped the IAS exams. Students of the coalbelt have kept the show going with brilliant results in ICSE and ISC examinations.

Girls from Dhanbad and Bokaro have done especially well in ICSE and ISC examinations, the results of which were declared today.

Shubha Hazra, a student of Carmel School, Dhanbad, topped her school and the districts of Bokaro and Dhanbad together in ICSE with 97.42 per cent, followed by Sthira Bhattacharya of De Nobili School CMRI, Dhanbad, with 97 per cent.Harshit Gupta of De Nobili School Digwadih came third over all with 96.8 per cent.

In Bokaro alone, Gaurav Chadra Das of De Nobili School, Chandrapura (Bokaro), topped with 94.75 per cent marks followed by Mukul Verma of St Xavier’s who got 94.14 per cent and Sakshi Sharma and Rohit Kumar Sinha, both of Bokaro St Xavier’s, who got 94 per cent.

Among ISC students, Abhilasha Ram, a science student of De Nobili School, Maithon, topped in the Dhanbad-Bokaro region securing 96.2 per cent followed by Atul Banel, a commerce student of the same school, who secured 96 per cent.

In Bokaro, all top three spots went to St Xavier’s with Riti Prasad (commerce) scoring 91.75 per cent followed by Leena Shekhar (science) 91.25 per cent and Deepashri Dey (commerce) 90.75 per cent.
