Ranchi, Oct. 17: The social welfare department is going to computerise all offices of the 204 Child Development Project Officers (CDPOs) in the state and link them to the main directorate in the state capital. The project would be implemented in the Ranchi district from next month on a trial basis and judging by the response, it would be undertaken all over the state.
The department officials pointed out that the CDPOs have to send reports about how many people they have vaccinated in their block, how much nutrition has been provided to the families and other such details. For this, these CDPOs had to collect and compile the reports of the particular blocks through the ?aaganwadis? working under them. There were reports of these officers not following the particular format given by the government of India while filing reports. The computerised format would solve this problem to an extent.
Director of the Social Welfare Department, Puja Singhal Purwar told The Telegraph, ?I had visited Madhya Pradesh, where I saw CDPOs following it.?
