Ranchi, Feb. 10: The CBI today furnished a copy of the chargesheet filed against Hotel Sonnet, Jamshedpur, proprietor Ravi B. Parekh and laundry supervisor Ravindra Behera in the Moushmi Choudhary death case before the high court.

The CBI was entrusted with the investigation of the case by the high court after a letter was sent to Chief Justice Gyan Sudha Misra by Moushmi’s mother Tapasi.

Tapasi had alleged that her daughter, an airhostess trainee, was murdered by the owner of the hotel where she was undergoing industrial hospitality training. Moushmi died under mysterious circumstances and on trying to register a case with the police, Tapasi was allegedly harassed and turned away by the police.

The CBI, after taking up the matter, investigated Moushmi’s death and submitted a chargesheet under Section 287 (negligent conduct with respect to machinery) of the IPC. The agency had filed the chargesheet in a Jamshedpur court a week ago.

Moushmi was working next to a washing machine drier in the laundry section of the hotel when her scarf got entangled and she suffered injuries that later resulted in her death. The CBI also denied allegations of rape in the chargesheet.
