Campus jobs
• National University of Study and Research in Law, Ranchi, in a news release on Thursday said the last day of academic session for the 2012-17 batch was June 14.
The placement process for final-year students has started. Till now, out of 94 students, 29 have bagged jobs in Khaitan & Co., Hari Global Advisors, L&T Finance and Wipro, among others.
Market raid
• Ranchi SDO Bhor Singh Yadav on Thursday launched raids in Upper Bazaar against adulterated edible oil. He said his office was swamped with complaints of spurious stocks, which had prompted the action.
Accident kills 2
• Two persons, including a 13-year-old girl, were killed when the scooter they were riding was hit by a trailer at Jadugora Chowk, 30km from Jamshedpur, on Thursday.
Bir Singh Sardar (35) and his niece Kajal were local residents. Trailer driver Uttam Tiwary has been arrested.
Lynching cuffs
• Two more persons, Kanu Jyotishi (21) and Laxmikant Rajak (30), were arrested on Thursday in connection with the May 18 Rajnagar lynching.
Water project
• The multi-crore Moharda drinking water project started its operations under Jusco on Thursday. Officials said they would improve water quality in the next few months.
Burns death
• A 20-year-old man, admitted to TMH with severe burns on Wednesday, died on Thursday. Ranjit Mahto, a native of Bengal's Purulia, was allegedly set on fire by his girlfriend's kin.
Suicide
• One Ranjit Gupta (32) consumed poison at his home in Sitaramdera thana area of Jamshedpur on Thursday. Ranjit was mentally unstable, police said, ruling out foul play.
