Ranchi, Dec. 25: The Style X Events, an event management group based in the capital, will organise a two-day Fashion Expo ?06 on February 11 and 12.

According to the organisers, the event is not about fashion shows and beauty pageants, but about creating a platform for the aspiring fashion designers and models in the city.

Director of Style X Vikash Arya said: ?This show was planned six months ago and is being organised to provide a platform to all those who are struggling for a good break. There are over 400 designers who have passed out from the designing institutes in Ranchi and are struggling to make their presence felt. We want to provide to them with a place to showcase their talent.?

The exposition will also have participation from garment export houses and those dealing in raw fabrics, readymade garments, shoes, jewellery, belts, bags and other fashion accessories.

Appreciating the idea behind organising the show, noted fashion designer and owner of a fashion boutique, Astha Kiran, said most youth prefer to do their shopping from places such as Bangalore, Delhi, Mumbai and Calcutta, when there are good designs available in Ranchi also. ?The need is for a good garment house, which can provide employment to the many creative youths in Ranchi,? Astha opined.

Apart from Jharkhand-based participants, the organisers also expect youths from other metros to come for the event.

The firm has also decided to charge the bare minimum possible for the stalls at the exposition because many participants would not be able to afford representation otherwise. Participating designers would also be able to hire models to showcase their designs at a nominal cost.

Moreover, games, dance events, and other such entertainment shows are also being planned and the money collected through these events would then be used for charity, the organisers said.
