
Dhanbad: Bihar defeated Sikkim by 247 runs at Jealgora Stadium here on Thursday and secured 20 points to emerge overall champions and qualified for the super-league on the concluding day of North East-Bihar U-19 Women's Cricket Championship of the BCCI.
Nagaland also qualified in the super league defeating Meghalaya by 25 runs at Railway Stadium while Arunachal Pradesh defeated Manipur by 81 runs at Digwadih Stadium.
In the first match at Jealgora Stadium, Bihar chose to bat first and scored 265 runs in 50 overs at the loss of 6 wickets.
Bihar's Apoorva was close to making a century with 99 runs followed by Soni Kumari and Mansi Kashyap with 42 and 21 runs, respectively. Shering Lepcha of Sikkim took 2 wickets for 45 runs.
Chasing the target, Sikkim couldn't withstand the fierce bowling attack of Bihar and the entire team was out for a paltry 18 runs, losing the match by a huge margin of 247. Bihar's Shikha Singh took 8 wickets for just six runs.
At Railway Stadium, Nagaland opted to bat first scoring 149 runs in 35.1 overs. The team also secured 77 extra runs. For Meghalaya, Smriti Kumari, Dyka and Shilpa Kumari took 2 wickets each.
Chasing the target, Meghalaya scored 17 runs in 13 overs and lost the match by 132 runs. Nagaland's Aparna took 7 wickets giving away just five runs.
At Digwadih Stadium, Arunachal scored 161 runs in 44.1 overs. For Manipur, Rajkumari and Paljam Kiranbala took 3 wickets each.
Chasing the target, Manipur could manage to score 80 runs in 30.2 overs and lost the match by 81 runs. For Manipur Ranibala scored the highest of 32 runs while Ragini Yadav and M. Kalra of Arunachal took 4 wicket each.
