Dhanbad: Bihar, Nagaland and Manipur won their respective matches during the North-east Bihar U-19 Women's Cricket Tournament of BCCI at Railway Stadium, Jealgora Stadium and Digwadih Stadium, respectively, in Dhanbad on Tuesday.
Bihar trounced Meghalaya by a huge margin of 366 runs at Railway Stadium.
Winning the toss, Meghalaya chose to field. Bihar displayed terrific batting scoring 384 runs in 50 overs at the loss of five wickets. Bihar's Apoorva Kumari scored the highest 108 runs, while Soni Kumari and Mansi Kashyap scored 51 and 43 runs, respectively. Bihar also scored additional 125 runs through extras. Losivspen of Meghlaya took two wickets in 55 runs.
Chasing the target, Meghalaya could not resist the fierce bowling of Bihar and entire team got bundled out in 11 overs and lost the match by 366 runs. Priyanka Kumari of Bihar took the maximum five wickets giving away five runs while Shikha Singh took three wickets giving away nine runs.
In Jealgora Stadium, Nagaland defeated Arunachal Pradesh by eight wickets. Winning the toss, Arunachal Pradesh chose to bat and scored 48 runs in 27.4 overs. For Nagaland, Aparna Karmakar took the maximum five wickets giving away seven runs while Muskan Mallik managed three wickets.
Nagaland easily chased the target in 11.3 overs and with Muskan Mallik scoring the highest 25 runs.
In the third match at Digwadih Stadium, Manipur defeated Sikkim by two wickets.
Batting first, Sikkim scored 121 runs in 50 overs at a loss of four wickets. Sherling Lemcha of Manipur scored the maximum 18 runs while Sonkill Lemcha scored 13 runs.
Manipur's Pinki took two wickets while Rajkumari and Kiran Bala managed a wicket each. Chasing the target, Manipur scored 122 runs in 44.5 overs at a loss of eight wickets and went on to win the match by two wickets. Vidyarani of Manipur scored the maximum 20 runs.
