Ranchi, June 9: Tomatoes, potatoes and fruits can be the secret behind younger and glowing skin.

The homemakers and college-goers of the capital got to know this and a lot more at a beauty session by Farheen Prabhakar, the wife of former cricketer Manoj Prabhakar. She advised maximum use of vegetables during face massage because they act as anti-oxidants and stop ageing.

The grand parlour seminar today was hosted by Farheen’s Naturence Research Lab. She gave tips on anti-ageing, sugar and spice treatment, global fashion make-up and stressed on the importance of multi-vitamins and fruit juices.

Farheen has opened over 150 outlets across the country. Prabhakar is the managing director of Naturence. Her range of herbal beauty products is used by Bolly bombshell Ishaa Koppikar and also by make up artists.

On her fourth visit to the city, Farheen said: “Ranchi feels like home as I get a lot of love and respect from the people here.”

She said rural women suffer from skin diseases and hormone imbalance due to lack of knowledge. “I want to visit the rural hinterland and inform the women about beauty remedies that will reduce their problems,” she said.

The beauty therapist is looking forward to opening an outlet in Ranchi. “Women here are beauty conscious and have an inclination towards herbal products but they need to know what is good for which type of skin. Once my outlet comes up here I can guide them better,” Farheen said.

A participant and homemaker, Pratibha Gupta, said that the session helped her in understanding her skin problems. “By adding more fruits and vegetables in our diet we can get a glowing skin,” she said.
