Jamshedpur, May 24: It would not be long before a soccer body is formed in Jharkhand.

Concerned over the internal dispute among rival factions of the Jharkhand Football Association (JFA), the All-India Football Federation (AIFF) has directed the soccer managers of the state to hold elections before November 30.

The parent body has also decided to form an interim committee, which would conduct different tournaments in the state.

“The AIFF has directed us to hold elections before November 30. We are satisfied with the decision as it would enable us to form a football association in Jharkhand,” said a member of the parallel faction of the JFA S.M. Hashmi, who is also the secretary of the Dhanbad District Football Association.

He added that the AIFF, in its annual general body meeting held recently, has passed a resolution to hold elections to the soccer bodies of three new states, including Jharkhand, Chhattisgarh and Uttaranchal. According to Hashmi, the parent body would form the interim committee for proper management of the game.
