
Ranchi, July 22: Here is a chance for Jharkhand youths to serve the nation.
A 11-day-long recruitment rally of Indian Army will commence from September 28 to October 8 at Birsa Munda Football Stadium in Morabadi, Ranchi, to select candidates from the 24 districts of the state.
Director of army recruitment office, Ranchi, Col S.S. Parhar today told the newsmen that candidates participating in the rally wouldn't be allowed to run topless or wearing underwear. They would have to appear in T-shirt and shorts for the run. Apart from this, the army will not entertain laminated documents like birth certificate, marksheet from the candidates this time.
"Unlike previous year, candidates will have to come in T-shirt and shorts to take part in the run," Parhar said.
Giving reason behind not allowing laminated document, Col Parhar said, "It is difficult to identify fake documents once it is laminated."?
Informing more about other changes in the recruitment process, the Colonel said that education exemption has not been given to tribal candidates this year. "Earlier the minimum qualification for the tribals were Class VIII. This year it has been matriculation, which is the minimum education qualification for general candidates also," he said.
According to Col Parhar, the registration of the candidates will be done online through official website ( joinindianarmy.nic.in) and the registration will kick off from July 25 and conclude on September 3. Admit card of the candidates will be sent on their emails after September 7.
Like last year, different dates will be given to the candidates of different districts.
The post for which the candidates will be selected are soldier technical, nursing assistant, soldier (general duty), soldier clerk and solder tradesmen including washerman, chef, steward, dresser, equipment repairer, house keeper, mess keeper and painter and decorator.
For soldiers (general duty), age limit should be 17 years and six months to 21 years as on October 1, 2016 and for others it is between 17 years and six months to 23 years. Married candidates below 21 years age as on September 30, 2016 are not eligible for enrolment. Only one tiny tattoo on the forearm or on the palm is permitted.
Col Parhar added that any type of contact with touts or offering bribe at any stage of the recruitment process will lead to rejection of candidature. "FIR will be lodged against candidates on production of fake documents," he warned.
