Ranchi, March 7: Six law students of Chhotanagpur Law College were rusticated after they were found using unfair means during the first semester examinations in the capital today.

The exams were being conducted at Ranchi University’s (RU) postgraduate department of economics.

Peeved over the rustication of classmates, students created a ruckus on university premises. The police was called to bring the situation under control after law college and university authorities intervened.

R.R.P. Singh, the centre superintendent who also happens to be the head of the post-graduate department of economics, has sent the detailed report of the incident and the immediate rustication order of six students to RU authorities.

“The students have been rusticated for a year from taking part in any examination under Ranchi University. We have sealed the copy and cheating material and send it to university authorities for further action,” said Singh.

Sources revealed that earlier, four law students of different semesters were rusticated after they were found using unfair means.

Around 1,100 students of Chhotanagpur Law College, one of the affiliated units of Ranchi University, are taking the first, third and fifth semester examination in various postgraduate departments.
