Ranchi, Feb. 18: In a major shake-up to beef up law and order, the state government today transferred 29 IPS officers with immediate effect, including Dumka DIG Priya Dubey considered close to the Soren family, as well as changed SPs of 13 districts.

Chief minister Raghubar Das removed Dubey to DIG railways. Formerly Pakur SP Praveen Kumar Srivastava is the new DIG of Dumka.

Formerly DIG special branch Shambhu Thakur will now go to Bokaro while former Palamau DIG Ravikant Dhan will take charge of Kolhan.

Jaya Roy, earlier posted in Ranchi as ASP special branch, will now be Ranchi city SP. Her predecessor Anoop Birtharay has been transferred to Pakur, a Naxalite stronghold.

Jamshedpur SP Karthik S. is new traffic SP of Ranchi. But, no one has yet been put in Karthik's place. Ranchi-based DSP CID Animesh Naithani has been posted as DSP Jamshedpur (town).

Formerly special branch SP A. Vijayalakshmi will now be Bokaro SP while predecessor Jitendra Kumar Singh has been transferred to Special Branch. SP Koderma Sangita Kumari will now join as SP Special Branch.

Vigilance SP Rajkumar Lakra is now Ranchi SP (rural). Traffic SP Ranchi Y.S. Ramesh will go to Koderma.

Formerly Dhanbad SP Hemant Toppo was promoted to DIG Palamau. Deoghar SP Rakesh Bansal will take Toppo's place in Dhanbad.

In Seraikela-Kharsawan, SP Durga Oraon was replaced with Indrajit Mahatha of India Reserve Battalion-5. Oraon now has been posted as SP India Reserve Battalion-5.

Garhwa SP Sudhir Kumar Jha will now join as SP CID at headquarters. He was replaced by Chakradharpur SDPO Priyadarshi Alok. Garhwa CDPO Kusum Punia is the new Jamtara SP.
