New Delhi, March 31: Five high-end prostitutes from Uzbekistan, who had come to the capital ahead of the Commonwealth Games last year, were arrested on Wednesday night.

All in their 20s, the five women made “huge money” during the Commonwealth Games, said deputy commissioner Ashok Chand. One of them doubled as a pimp.

The women stayed on in Delhi even after their visas expired in January, Chand said.

The Delhi police team deployed a decoy customer who spoke to the pimp over her mobile phone and was told that the girls would be shown on an advance payment of Rs 50,000.

During interrogation officers learnt that the pimp had been staying in India for the last two years on a multiple entry visa.

Chand said: “She has been involved in the flesh trade for the past few years and has brought several girls from her country to Delhi. She operated from different parts of south Delhi and shifted her accommodation frequently to avoid any suspicion detection.

“She has been putting up at the rented accommodation in Udai Park for the past 6-7 months.”

“Each of the girls earned over a lakh every month ,” said the officer.

The police have seized a diary with their clients’ phone numbers.
