Calcutta, June 21: ABP Ltd, publisher of The Telegraph, has entered the regional television space for the first time outside Bengal.
STAR Majha (My STAR), a 24-hour national news channel in Marathi, will be headquartered in Mumbai and focus on Maharashtra.
The channel is the latest in the ABP bouquet that already includes STAR News, in the national news space, and STAR Ananda, which caters to Bengali viewers.
Media Content & Communications Services India Pvt. Ltd, a joint venture between ABP TV and STAR News Broadcasting Ltd, announced the launch of the channel, which will also leverage the strengths of Fox and Sky networks for international news.
STAR Majha will offer a slew of exciting and informative programmes on spheres as diverse as politics, sport, entertainment, culture, education, career, real estate, religion, yoga, astrology and lifestyle among others.
A new age channel for the new age Maharashtrian, it will bring quality news along with views and analysis in the language of the viewer in a state at the forefront of shaping Indian society and economy.
