Thiruvananthapuram, Dec. 2: The solar scam returned to buffet the Congress-led Kerala government today with a convict in the case hurling corruption and debauchery charges against chief minister Oommen Chandy and some of his cabinet colleagues.

Biju Radhakrishnan, also in jail for his wife's murder, told a one-man judicial commission probing the scam that co-convict Sarita Nair had been "sexually used" by the chief minister and the others. They included labour minister Shibu Baby John and a Congress leader, Aryadan Shoukath.

Sarita herself had made clips of her encounters with these men and showed them to him, Radhakrishnan claimed, adding he could produce the videos before the commission if necessary. Radhakrishnan also said he had paid Rs 5.5 crore as bribes to some ministers and a Congress MP.

Sarita termed the charges "obscene" and said she considered Chandy a father figure. She said she would sue Radhakrishnan, as did Shoukath and John.

The controversy is associated with the alleged cheating of some investors over claims of proximity to the chief minister and other ministers to hardsell a project on solar energy.
