The Nagpur-Mumbai Duronto derailed early on Tuesday between Asangaon and Vasind but Indian Railways said no one was injured.
"12290 Nagpur-CSMT Duranto Exp derailed between Asangaon and Vasind. No injuries to any Passengers," Central Railway said on its twitter handle @Central_Railway.
The railway said it is arranging buses to take the passengers to their destination, Mumbai's Chattrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus, and that doctors and senior officers were already on the site.
ABP News TV reported that five coaches and the engine jumped off the tracks at 6.40am near Titwala.
The train covers the 837km distance between Nagpur and CST in around 11 hours, leaving Nagpur at 8.40pm and reaching Mumbai the next morning at 7.55am, after halts at Bhusaval and Igatpuri. The train does not halt at Asangaon, a station 85km from Mumbai.
