Sheemaroo brings B.R. Chopra’s much-acclaimed, superhit movie Baghban (DVD; Rs 349), directed by Ravi Chopra, for the home viewing audience. After a long long time the handsome pair of Amitabh Bachchan and Hema Malini was seen together in this film and the audience simply couldn’t take their eyes off them. Hema had never looked so elegant and Amitabh so dignified. The pair was honoured the ‘Jodi No. 1’ by Screen. This pair proved that onscreen chemistry is not just sizzle and sex, but a lot more than that. The theme being the relationship between parents and their children, the film Baghban is a perfect mix of both entertainment and education. The highlight of the movie is, however, the songs and the end-speech that Amitabh Bachchan has given voice to. But the highlight of the DVD produced by Shemaroo lies in the extras that it has packed in. It has the making of Baghban with comments from Ravi Chopra, Amitabh and Hema. Plus there is a ‘Blast from the past’ ? the superhit song starring Amitabh and Hema, Dilbar mere kab tak mujhe. The DVD also includes some of Amitabh’s all-time hit scenes and has been awarded the Disc Tech Awards 2005 and creation for telecine and authoring excellence.

As is expected from a Mani Shankar film, Tango Charlie has all the gadgetry to please.
