Botlab Dynamics, a start-up incubated at IIT-Delhi and the Drone Federation of India, put up the country’s first drone display and it had about 80 small drones dancing about and creating intricate multi-coloured formations in the skies above IIT-Delhi.

The show was put up in honour of Civil Aviation Secretary Pradeep Singh Kharola, who is about to retire. In this video, the drones take off to form the shape of a cylindrical cone.

Under Kharola’s watch a month ago, sweeping changes have been made on drone regulations that will enable the industry to fly to new heights in coming years.

The show represents the fledgling drone industry.
