Shimla: A seven-year-old boy was mauled to death by half a dozen stray dogs in Himachal Pradesh's Sirmaur district, police said on Saturday.

Vikki, the son of a migrant labourer from Uttar Pradesh, was attacked while returning home from a market in nearby Amarkot. The boy suffered multiple injuries to his head, throat, neck and stomach, officials said, adding that he died on the way to hospital.

A 14-month-old girl died after being bitten by two stray dogs while she was crawling on the street in front of her house in Chhatisgarh's Raipur on Saturday. Riya Sahu, who was at home with her five-year-old brother while their parents had gone out for work, had strayed onto the street while playing.
