Former Gujarat deputy chief minister Nitin Patel on Saturday fractured his left leg after a stray cow attacked a “Tiranga Yatra” he was leading in Kadi town of Mehsana district.

“A Tiranga Yatra had been organised at Kadi where nearly 2,000 people participated. It had completed almost 70 per cent of the distance and reached a vegetable market when a cow suddenly came running,” Patel said. Patel fell down as the cow rushed past him. An X-ray and CT scan showed a minor fracture.
