The Centre said on Tuesday it was mulling the possibility of reducing syllabus and instructional hours of school students for the 2020-21 academic session because of the Covid-linked disruption and parental appeals.

“In view of the current circumstances and after receiving a lot of requests from parents and teachers, we are contemplating the option of reduction in syllabus and instructional hours for coming academic year,” Union HRD minister Ramesh Pokhriyal tweeted.

He appealed to teachers, academics and educationists to share their views using #SyllabusForStudents2020 on the ministry’s or his Twitter handles and Facebook pages.
