A 1989 batch officer, Jena had retired from the job as principal chief operations manager in the East Coast Railway in November last year.

He had been booked earlier this month in a DA (disproportionate assets case) and an FIR was lodged against him on January 3. CBI sources here said Jena had amassed properties disproportionate to his known sources of income between April 2005 and March 2022.

During this period he served in the railways in different positions like chief commercial manager, chief traffic planning manager and other posts. Till April 2005, his family members were found in possession of assets amounting to only Rs 4.53lakh.

“His wife Rosina Jena is a housewife with no major source of income, but she regularly files lTR (income tax returns). Jena had no other source of income except his own salary and rental income. The daughters of Jena are also filing lT returns,” an official alleged, citing the FIR, adds PTI. The CBI is yet to release a detailed press communique on this case.
