Hyderabad, Oct. 26 (PTI): A five-year-old boy was killed when a television actress, who allegedly did not have a valid licence, lost control of a car she was driving during the shooting of a Telugu serial and rammed into him in Hyderabad today.

E. Sathvik Reddy, an LKG student, was sitting with his neighbour Swathika on the steps leading to a garden when the car climbed a pavement and hit them. He died on the spot at 9.30am, police said.

Swathika suffered a fracture on her left leg.

Aparna, the actress at the wheel, has been arrested along with the crew manager, Venkateswara Rao, an officer said after registering a case against the entire team.

The actress, who was to drive the car to the pavement and then walk into the garden, claimed she tried to control the vehicle. “It (the accident) happened unexpectedly,” she said.

The police said she did not have a valid driving licence and that no permission was taken for the shooting.
