A 24-year-old postgraduate student of AIIMS Patna allegedly committed suicide in his hostel room on Friday evening.
A purported suicide note found in the room pointed to an unsuccessful love affair.
Nilesh Kumar, a resident of Gurgaon, was a first-year MD student in the department of anesthesiology. His body was recovered from room number 306 of postgraduate hostel 10 on the campus around 8pm.
According to the AIIMS Patna authorities, Nilesh had finished his duty at the emergency ward and was off duty for a day.
“His colleagues wanted him to accompany them for a cup of tea and knocked at his door. Getting no response, they broke open the door and found his body lying on the bed,” a statement issued by AIIMS Patna said.
Nilesh was rushed to the emergency ward department where the doctors gave him CPR for around 20 minutes to revive him. He was declared brought dead after there was no response.
