Jehanabad, March 4 :     In a swift move to deflect Opposition salvo on Tuesday?s bloodbath at Bhimpura village here, the administration swung into action by suspending the officer in-charge of Narayanpur police picket. The government also decided to move the court to obtain search warrants for the 15 accused in the killing and for attaching their property. Officer in-charge of Narayanpur Noor Mohammad was suspended on charges of ?dereliction of duty,? Bihar director general of police T.P. Sinha said today. Sinha said an intensive combing operation was underway to apprehend the killers and three suspects have already been arrested. Jehanabad police would move the chief judicial magistrate?s court to secure search warrants and attach property of the 15 accused who are absconding, he said. Police have raided over 50 extremist hideouts after the Bhimpura killings, the second such incident in the district after imposition of President?s rule in Bihar on February 12. Seven people, all from the upper castes, were killed in Usribazar area of the district by PWG activists on February 14. BJP reaction: President of state BJP unit Nand Kishore Yadav today charged the RJD with ?conspiring in collusion with the Congress? to project a wrong picture of Bihar under President?s rule. He said the latest killings in Jehanabad were a ?handiwork? of the two parties. Holding them ?responsible? for the Bhimpura killings, Yadav said the BJP state unit has demanded a CBI probe into the incident. ?The law and order scenario in Bihar has been dismal for the past nine years of RJD misrule and it is wrong to expect a major change overnight,? Yadav said. He said the upper crust of the state administration had been changed but the ?rot has percolated down the ladder of administrative machinery and a lot of cleansing is still required.?
