Bihar government accuses Mumbai police of creating hurdles in Sushant Rajput death probe
The Bihar government on Friday accused Mumbai police of creating hurdles in the path of the Patna police team investigating actor Sushant Singh Rajput’s death.
“Mumbai police is putting obstruction in way of fair investigation by Bihar police in Sushant death case.
Bihar police is doing its best but Mumbai police is not cooperating. BJP feels that CBI shud take over this case,” Bihar deputy chief minister and BJP leader Sushil Kumar Modi tweeted.
Union minister and Lok Janshakti Party founder Ram Vilas Paswan, another Bihar leader, echoed the demand.
Maharashtra home minister Anil Deshmukh has repeatedly said there is no need for a CBI probe into the June 14 suicide of Sushant as Mumbai police are capable of investigating the case. Water resources minister Jayant Patil said on Friday Mumbai police would investigate the matter “on the basis of evidence”. “We are expecting they will complete the investigation and arrive at a conclusion soon,” he said.
Patil said he did not know how the issue was being viewed in Bihar but asked “leaders from Maharashtra” to stop “tweeting and expressing their opinions about it”.
The NCP minister did not name any leader but his comment came in the wake of former BJP chief minister Devendra Fadnavis demanding a probe by the Enforcement Directorate into the money-laundering angle.
The ED on Friday filed a money-laundering case on the basis of a Bihar police FIR in which Sushant’s father has accused actress Rhea Chakraborty and her family of abetting the actor’s suicide.
Sources have been claiming that Mumbai police have not been cooperating with the Patna police team.Sushant’s gym trainer Samee Ahmad told the media on Friday that Rhea, the actor’s rumoured girlfriend, had been attending to Sushant’s medical needs and suggested a negative impact.
