Jaipur, April 20 (PTI): Self-styled cow protector Sadhvi Kamal Didi has equated one of the accused in the Alwar lynching of a cattle trader with freedom-fighters Bhagat Singh, Chandra Shekhar Azad and Sukhdev.

A video of Kamal Didi meeting the arrested accused, Vipin Yadav, when he came to appear for his annual examination at a college in Alwar, Rajasthan, has gone viral.

"The entire country is with you. If we will not do such things in our country, then who else will? You need not worry about anything," Kamal Didi is seen telling Yadav, accused of being part of the group that lynched dairy farmer Pehlu Khan, 55, when he was taking home milch cows he had bought at a fair.

Comparing Yadav with freedom fighters, she said: "People like Bhagat Singh, Chandra Shekhar Azad and Sukhdev did not do anything wrong."

Kamal Didi is the president of the Rashtriya Mahila Gau Rakshak Dal, a group that claims to be cow protecters and operates in Rajasthan, Haryana and Uttar Pradesh.

"Are you getting proper meals (in jail) and are you well?" she asked. When Yadav nodded, she said: "Don't worry. You seem to be scared."

Yadav replied: "No...."

Kamal Didi advised Yadav against sitting idle in jail, and instead "spread the message of sacrificing lives while protecting cows".

Contacted, Kamal Didi said: "I had gone there just to assure him of our support."
