New Delhi, Nov. 30: The Supreme Court today directed International Amusement Limited, which runs Appu Ghar, to hand over the land on which the park is located to the court and Delhi Metro.
The land, allotted to the apex court and Delhi Metro, had been leased out to International Amusement Limited (IAL) in 1984 to build the capital’s only amusement park for children, named after the Delhi Asiad mascot.
The last lease ran out in 1999, but the Appu Ghar management held on to the land. IAL claimed that it was a permanent allottee of the plot.
