“When questioned by our team, they claimed to be natives of Bengal. However, they could not produce any document or evidence of it. They were not carrying any luggage either. They later accepted that they were from Bangladesh,” RPF inspector B.M. Dhar told reporters.

The arrested persons have been identified as Robin Chandra Burman, Amal Chand Burman, Muhammad Ajizul and Suman Das. They all are in the age group of 23-35, and are residents of Thakurpur in Bangladesh.

“They confessed that they entered our country from Bangladesh on Tuesday night by crossing the border along North Dinajpur district in Bengal when no Border Security Force (BSF) personnel were there. They came unhindered to Kishanganj,” Dhar added.
