PM Modi's 'Mann ki Baat' 100th episode goes global

In the 100th episode of 'Mann ki Baat', Prime Minister Narendra Modi said the broadcast filled the 'emptiness' he felt after coming to Delhi in 2014 and described it as an expression of the feelings of crores of Indians which has ensured he is never cut-off from people. The milestone broadcast was an occasion for Modi to walk down the memory lane as he asserted that it was not merely a programme but a matter of faith and spiritual journey for him. The programme was broadcast live at several places in India as well as the UN headquarter. Take a look

In a “historic moment”, the 100th episode of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s monthly radio programme ‘Mann Ki Baat’ was broadcast live at the United Nations headquarters here in the early hours of Sunday. Delegates listen to the 100th episode of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's 'Mann Ki Baat' radio programme, at the UN Headquarters in New York, USA. The 100th episode of ‘Mann Ki Baat’ was also live-streamed at the Indian diplomatic missions in several countries across the globe. The events were attended by Indian community members and embassy officials.

Jammu and Kashmir Lt Governor Manoj Sinha flagged off a marathon here to mark the 100th episode of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s "Mann ki Baat" radio broadcast. The marathon, organised by the Hindustan Scouts and Guides and the Dogra Kranti Dal, is one of 100 marathons scheduled throughout the day across the Union Territory to celebrate the monthly broadcast.

West Bengal Governor C V Ananda Bose Sunday said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi's 'Mann Ki Baat' has brought transformation in the lives of numerous people of India. Bose, who listened to the 100th edition of 'Mann Ki Baat' along with a galaxy of people including Padma awardees, people who featured in the PM's earlier addresses and many from the field of science and arts and students, at the Raj Bhavan here, said that it is only a person who thinks about the various problems faced by the common man can do such a programme.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s ‘Mann ki Baat’ is the story of a changing India - a ‘New India - and is a connection between India and the world, External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar said on Sunday as he joined the community members at a special event to listen to the 100th episode of the monthly radio programme. “In many ways, the story of Mann Ki Baat is the story of the last nine years, is the story of changing India. It is the emergence of a ‘New India’, it is the connection between India and the world - that this is today a different India, a more aware India, in many ways, I would say a more aspirational India which is connecting to the world,” Jaishankar said.

The State of New York and New Jersey have issued special resolutions honouring the 100th episode of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s monthly radio programme ‘Mann Ki Baat’, underscoring that the “vital" broadcast has become an effective means of communication to “promote good governance and deepen democracy.” Legislative Resolutions by the State of New York adopted in the Senate and Assembly on April 26, 2023, congratulate ‘Mann Ki Baat’ upon the occasion of celebrating its 100th edition on April 30.

"For me, 'Mann Ki Baat' is not a programme, it's a matter of faith, of worship or 'vrat'. Like when people go to worship God, they bring along prasad. For me, 'Mann Ki Baat' is like prasad at the feet of God in the form of the masses the people," he added. Noting that he connected with people involved in inspiring journeys, like planting trees, cleanliness, educating the poor, for decades, these efforts of the countrymen have inspired him to keep striving, he said.
