On the menu: An all-you-can-eat buffet that included plenty of salads and cold cuts to precede the main course where the highlights were Spinach and Tenderloin Roulade, Stir-fried Asian Greens in Black Pepper Sauce and Chicken Biryani. Herb Brioche and Chicken Manchow featured amongst the soups, while Mushroom and Corn Vol au vent popped up amidst the appetisers.
The Lebanese Bar boasted a variety of Middle Eastern dips and the live counters included grills (sausages, baby corn and the likes) and a variety of noodles. Croquembouche (a decorative dessert of confectionery items arranged in a cone), Mocha Yule Log, Stollen Bread and Belgian Waffles with Strawberries made for a sweet end to the new year festivities.
Organiser speak: “The New Year Brunch was a laid-back affair after the New Year’s Eve party. The Square was chock-full of families who were there for the brunch, free-flowing sangria and sparkling wine and music,” said Sandeep Johri, general manager, Novotel Kolkata Hotel and Residences.
T2 CHECKS OUT AN ALL-DAY DHABA
They stay open beyond midnight — that’s what we came to know first when we spotted the quirky truck-like entrance (inset) to Delish Dhaba, near Quest mall. And yes, they do stay open, not just beyond midnight, but 24x7 actually!
The latest in the list of places you can head to for a late-night snack, Delish Dhaba serves regular Chinese as well as north Indian fare. Add to that a colourful decor emulating life on the highway, along with a touch of Bollywood, and you have a 60-seater restaurant serving up quite yummy food.
On the Indian menu, expect everything from rice, pulao, biryani, kulcha, naan and roti to veg and non-veg starters and main course featuring tandoor dishes such as Kashmiri Aloo Dum, Achari Paneer Tikka, Chicken Bharta, Kadai Murgh and more than 15 varieties of kebabs. The Chinese menu offers soups, starters and main course such as Chilli Fish, Garlic Chicken and Paneer Manchurian.
