HER LOVE STORY

In Bollywood, being in a committed relationship for two years is a big deal and specially if the couple are as sweet as Sonam Kapoor and her I Hate Luv Storys director Punit Malhotra. He has been her pillar all of last week, after the death of Sonam’s aunt and Boney Kapoor’s wife Mona. “Sonam was close to Mona and a death of someone in the family is tough to handle. Punit has been there for Sonam throughout. He was present both at the funeral and the prayer meeting that were held for Mona,” says a source close to the Kapoors. Though the couple kept ‘appropriate’ distance at venues, friends insist that Sonam is very grateful to have a man by her side at such a time in her life. Aww!

FREE WHEELY

He shot for his last film almost three years ago, so it’s understandable that Uday Chopra is super-excited about getting back in front of the camera. After the eminently forgettable Pyaar Impossible, Uday is all set to don the greasepaint once more for Dhoom:3 and the 30-something actor is looking forward to begin shooting in May. “There are going to be quite a few bike stunts, so Uday has been practising hard. He has bought himself a stunt bike and he has been practising for hours every day,” says a source close to the actor. Uday’s preparation is not only limited to doing wheelies, the self-confessed biking enthusiast is also suggesting which of the latest bikes should be used in the film. Clearly, someone has a lot of time on his hands.

LADY, INTERRUPTED?

At a high profile do that was held in Mumbai last week that had the who’s who of industry, sports, politics and Bollywood in attendance, a former A-list actress’s appearance raised many an eyebrow. She has been dogged by rumours of substance abuse for many years now and her dishevelled appearance at the party got quite a few tongues wagging. There have also been stories of drug use from the set of her comeback film that was recently shot abroad. “There were some major production snafus and key crew members quit due to creative disagreements with her director. And, the actress was so buzzed she had no clue what was going on around her,” says a crew member. Maybe, rehab is what she should focus on right now.
