The Wicket-taker On 'second Home' Calcutta And Bowling To Sachin Published 10.05.11, 12:00 AM

If I wasn’t a cricketer, I’d be: A businessman.

The most ridiculous New Year’s resolution I’ve made: Once I had made one, to stop being superstitious, but after a few days I was back to normal — doing religious things before a match.

My song for all moods: Kholo kholo darwaaze from Taare Zameen Par.

My favourite Shah Rukh Khan film: Swades.

For me, Calcutta means: It’s like my second home. There is a simplicity in the people, I feel it is still relatively untouched by western culture.

For me, KKR means: A very big platform for me to show my skills. I’m enjoying myself being part of the team. I have played for Delhi in domestic cricket but playing for KKR is like playing for my home side.

My pets: I have a Labrador named Brownie. We named it Brownie for two reasons. One, it was brown in colour, and two, it ate up the brownie my wife had baked for my mum on her birthday!

My favourite travel destinations: England and Scotland for the greenery and natural beauty. Also Goa, to escape from everything and chill on the beaches. And Mussoorie, to hang out with my friends.

My kind of books: Autobiographies. I recently read Lance Armstrong’s. But my favourite book is Bhagvad Gita.

My kind of movies: Inspirational ones like Taare Zameen Par and Swades.

My kind of music: Ghazals.

My fitness regimen: I like to spend time with the team trainer Adrian Le Roux. I never want to miss his sessions. I had a back injury which made me lose pace. So now, I spend a lot of time strengthening my core to prevent back injuries.

The cricket legends I’d like to bowl to: I have bowled to the greatest of them all — Sachin Tendulkar. I got his wicket in IPL 2 and it was a dream come true. I don’t think I want to bowl to any other legend.
