The Telegraph Cup Cricket 2015 for Corporates presented by Royal Stag Mega Cricket, held in March, was high on energy and euphoria. Grewal Motors (right) trumped Cognizant Technology by 21 runs to take home the Main Plate for the second time in a row. “Such matches are always fun. We went to the finals for the fourth time but winning a match has its own thrill,” said team captain Karan Grewal, who looks up to Steve Waugh and Sourav Ganguly as his inspirations.
Telegraph A beat Berger Paints by five wickets to win the Silver Plate. “It was close. We needed 22 in the last over. Our batsman Tanmoy Saikia was the game-changer with three sixes. The best part was that we played as a complete team,” said captain Kaushik Pal. For skipper Pal, no one can play it cooler than a certain M.S. Dhoni.
Team Vodafone East beat Eveready by five wickets to take home the Bowl Plate. “It was a good match. The opponents gave us a good fight. Though I started playing only from the quarter-finals, it was a great experience leading the team and winning,” said team captain Sashwath Rao.
