Have you tasted Magnum Brownie?
Yeah of course! And you don’t want to stop. Magnum has that addiction. One is never enough. Everyone loves brownies and chocolates. Here you have everything rolled into one. It’s a new surprise. The whole thing of chocolate combined with brownie is amazing. Magnum always comes up with new flavours and it is an exciting one for us. The flavour is great.

I am a big chocolate girl, especially Magnum.
Are you a dessert person?
I love desserts. Of course I don’t indulge in them so often, but I definitely love it.
What are the other new things that you are trying this year?
Well, new flavours! So many things… every year there should be something new that you are trying to do. Go visit a new destination. There is a new film of mine that’s releasing (Ki & Ka; directed by R. Balki and co-starring Arjun Kapoor). So lots of new things. I want to go to the Grand Canyon this year. So I’ll see a new place.
Talking of your new film Ki & Ka, the trailer is super fun…
Ki & Ka is quirky and fun. It’s a great role. People are excited. It’s releasing on April 1. Everyone says their film is different, but this one is truly different. It’s got everything right about it. There are many people in India who are stay-at-home husbands, but obviously nobody puts them in the forefront and no one really talks about it. No one wants to say that the wife is the bread-earner. This film is a take on the fact that gender really doesn’t matter. Love supersedes all. Respect supersedes all. And we have shown it in a nice, funny way which is entertaining. It is a film at the end of the day. It has to be entertaining.
I had a blast. I think after Jab We Met, I had so much fun playing a role. That’s why people will really like me in this movie. There is a lot of fun that has gone into the making. There is a lot of passion that has come in from my side. I have really got into the character of this girl. I think it is easy to play a character, but it is very difficult to portray a real girl. Make yourself feel really real and normal, so that when the viewer is watching you, they’ll feel that she is like any of us. But to play a footballer, a boxer… it is a character… so, you have things that assist you whether it’s your look, your body or your hair. Here to be really normal and make the viewer feel that you are on the same level, I think that is tough, but I enjoyed doing it.
What has changed in you after marriage?
I think I am a lot more calmer. But that’s nice… you should be growing and changing. And that’s how life is.
What is quality time for you and Saif?
Just the fact that you are spending time together is important. It’s nothing like I want to go on a holiday or I want to travel. Even at home if we are together, even that is quality time. I have never compromised on that.
Your eyes sparkle when you talk about Ki & Ka. At this stage of your career, are you looking for roles that bring a sparkle to your eyes?
I think so. It’s going to be more about that now. If I don’t like something, I am not going to do it. Of course, I will always try to balance the commercial and the slightly offbeat, off-the-track. As long as it interests me and there is a good script….

I am not out there to compete. I never have. It’s not that I don’t believe in competition but we all have our own path. Everyone does what they want. I think by god’s grace, I have got more than enough. I should be thankful and grateful. And most importantly, I don’t want to be pitted against anyone. One should just try to better themselves. Do interesting work. Do something fun. I am going to constantly try to do that.
