Koel Mullick has shaken off her slumber and gone on a signing spree. After lying low for the best part of 2006, Koel is busy flitting from the arms of one hero to the other.
She has wrapped up Haranath Chakraborty’s Nabab Nandini, is in the middle of Riingo’s Love and also ready to start Ravi Kinagi’s untitled film. In two of the three, she is trying out new heroes.
While Love co-stars Jisshu Sengupta, Nabab Nandini features newcomer Hiran and the Ravi Kinagi film has I Love You main man Dev. Koel is in the mood to take risks, provided her role is meaty.
“I have no qualms about who my co-actor is if my role is good. Dev’s work in I love You has been appreciated and I hope we will make a good pair. He is one-film-old, but I don’t mind working even with rank newcomers,” purrs the petite beauty.
The untitled film is a love story too, where Koel plays Varsha, a GenX girl willing to marry the boy chosen by her family.
“I liked the script. Varsha isn’t aware that someone loves her secretly. She agrees to an arranged marriage and only then does she discover her admirer. The film then takes a turn,” says Koel, who has tasted success with Ravi Kinagi films like Bandhan and Juddha.

| Dev: Ready to go |
“She is very different from Ria Fernandez, my character in Love. Varsha is a bubbly college-goer who loves to play pranks, go shopping and is conventional at heart. Ria is smart, confident and knows what she wants from life. My look in the two films is different too. As Ria I am wearing skirts and dresses, while as Varsha I will be in jeans and casuals,” she says.
Dev is all charged up to play her silent admirer Akash. “I am nervous because people have high expectations from me after the success of I Love You. This film is interesting and I am ready to work hard,” he says.
The team leaves for outdoor shoots in Bangalore and Mysore in late November. Shree Venkatesh Films is the producer.
