Gulshan & son to film Kashmir girl

“Bad man” Gulshan Grover and his son Sanjay have teamed up for a film based on stone-pelter Afshan Ashiq from Kashmir and her extraordinary journey to becoming the captain of the Jammu and Kashmir women’s football team. Shooting will begin early next year.

“Bad man” Gulshan Grover and his son Sanjay have teamed up for a film based on stone-pelter Afshan Ashiq from Kashmir and her extraordinary journey to becoming the captain of the Jammu and Kashmir women’s football team. Shooting will begin early next year.

The script is being written by Saiwyn Quadras of Mary Kom and Neerja fame and will be directed by Manish Harishanker, who was chief assistant director in Rajkumar Santoshi’s Ajab Prem Ki Gazab Kahani and Phata Poster Nikla Hero.

Afshan Ashiq met Jammu and Kashmir chief minister Mehbooba Mufti recently for her blessings since the film is being made on her life.

After finishing his postgraduation from University of California Los Angeles in business of entertainment and business of Hollywood, Sanjay Grover was looking for content that he could present in the international market working in Hollywood. He chose this Bollywood script and he intends to present it in Hollywood.

Sanjay started working in the Hollywood film studio MGM as producer and he was personally hired by then MGM Motion Pictures Worldwide chairperson Mary Parent as director, special projects. Sanjay has worked in various capacities, including film producer on MGM’sJames Bond ventures and Spy Kids under the direct guidance of Mary Parent. He has worked on finance with Tom Cruise while at MGM.
