Margot Robbie was “hesitant” to take up the role of controversial figure skater Tonya Harding in I, Tonya, for which she has received an Academy Award nomination for best actress, as she feared failure. In an interview with The Guardian, the actress said she phoned her mother when she received the film’s proposal. “It’s a big step, playing a lead, a step I’ve been hesitant to make,” the Australian actress said. “All the weight of the film rests on your shoulders. And if it doesn’t work? It’s that much harder for you to get a lead role again — especially if you’re a woman. I feel like guys get a few more chances to be the lead in a flop. If you’re a woman, and it flops? Good luck getting another one.”

The Ayan Mukherji film Brahmastra goes on the floors in March, and superstar Amitabh Bachchan took to Instagram recently to share the news. The sci-fi film has Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt in the lead and Mouni Roy plays a negative role. In an interview, Ranbir had said: “It is a fantasy film, it is contemporary and it is new for me. Ayan as a filmmaker is trying something which is beyond his years. It is going to be exciting, but is definitely a tough call for me. There are going to be a lot of physical changes, a lot of emotional surrender. I am really looking forward to this.” (Bharati K. Dubey)
