Model Jesse Randhawa learns how to wheelie with Khatron Ke Khiladi Level 2 and is now game for more adventures. A t2 chat with this model- turned-adventure junkie who loves to “live life to its fullest” and is turning out to be the toughest competitor on the Akshay Kumar-hosted show...
What prompted you to join Khatron Ke Khiladi Level 2?
I wanted to do level one but whatever reason they didn’t call me. Luckily, they called me this year. Being the person that I am, I always wanted to do a show like this. I was the best athlete in school and even played regional level. When in college I learnt martial arts for three years. Now that I am in Mumbai for convenience’s sake I train in kick-boxing.
So what was your biggest strength in the game?
This game is not so much about physical strength but mostly about inner strength. I am a very determined person. So I had my inner energies controlling my mind.
Did you have any weaknesses?
If any, I would say they were the underwater tasks. Though I had trained for it I wouldn’t say I was great in it, nor was I terrible. I was just average.
Which was the task you enjoyed performing the most?
Normally what you perform best is what you like the most. There was this task where we had to drive a car with two wheels on the road and two wheels on a truck, both moving at different speeds. I didn’t even know that I did a wheelie. Even the stuntmen were very surprised. For me that was the best task. I also liked the helicopter stunt where you had to go under a chopper to collect some flags.
What is your idea of dressing right for a show like this?
Athletic wear. Actually, what we were provided with was pretty decent. They were all Nike and Reebok track pants, tees and vests. All quite comfy. Obviously this is not the place to flaunt designer wear!
Have you been able to overcome any fear while shooting for the game?
My biggest fear was the cold. But fortunately the temperature was quite all right. It was about 16 degrees at Cape Town. But in that we had to jump into the cold water and do stunts. It was extreme. But now I can handle such stuff much better.
Who were your toughest competitors?
There were a few strong contenders like Mandira Bedi, Shveta Salve, Rosa Catalano and Nauheed Cyrusi. So I had to be a little cautious of them. But it turned out to be positive as it made me perform better.
So how was working with Mr Khiladi Kumar?
He was fabulously supportive. He is so disciplined himself. And every time we got stuck he would help us out. I couldn’t have asked for more.
With Gulaal you are one film old and now you have also done one reality show. What next?
Maybe another reality show. Talks are on but nothing has been finalised yet. But definitely not something like Bigg Boss or Iss Jungle Se Mujhe Bachao. These are shows where everything is exposed even if you are taking a shower! Khatron Ke Khiladi was fabulous. A dream come true.
