Neighbours for some time, Emraan Hashmi and Rishi Kapoor are now set to share screen space in Jeethu Joseph’s thriller The Body.

Calling Rishi a fascinating personality, Emraan said: “Though we are neighbours, we don’t meet much. He is a fantastic man and he is someone who speaks his heart. He is so passionate about work… He knew my grandmother and we spoke a lot about those memories.”

The two also spoke about illnesses — while Emraan’s son Ayaan was diagnosed with a rare case kidney cancer when he was three years old, Rishi recently fought a battle with the disease too.

The Body, the duo’s thriller releasing next week, is a remake of a Spanish film but has been compared to Rishi’s 1989 film Khoj. “Rishiji is playing the detective who has come to investigate the murder. I play a college professor whose wife dies, and then her body disappears from the morgue. It’s the story of one night.”

Emraan also has Chehre with Amitabh Bachchan.

Chehre is once again a thriller. I am still shooting for the movie. Then I have Jay Krishnan’s Ezra which is a remake of a South film. It’s a horror. There’s Sanjay Gupta’s Mumbai Saga. I will also start preparing for Vijay Ratnakar Gutte’s Vayusena where I will play IAS officer KC Kuruvilla. I will have to train myself so I don’t know when we are going to start. It’s going to be a pretty intense role so I have to be prepared, the actor, who made his web debut with Netflix’s Bard of Blood, said.
