Songs you danced to as a kid: The Nagina song Main teri dushman that Sridevi had danced to. And also Madhuri Dixit’s Ek do teen.

Music you grew up listening to: Abba, Elvis Presley, Santana and classical music.

Any dance training? I learnt Odissi from Guru Muralidhar Majhi for 20 years.

One thing you need in order to dance on screen: Good beat, rhythm and great expression.

Your best dance on screen: I had done an item number in the film Jugni, which was in Nagpuri language. During the Jugni jugni sequence, people in the hall threw money! It was very inspiring.

One Bolly song you would love to dance to on screen: Dhoom machale from Dhoom:2 and Piya toh se naina lage re from Guide.

One place where you like dancing: In my room, where I often dance crazily.

Tracks you love grooving to these days: Aye bachchu from Ghajini and Madonna’s Ray of light.

Your dancing dress code: T-shirt and track pants or very loose shorts.

You like dancing with: My younger sister Mumtaz. She is a great dancer!

Your dream dance scenario: I would like to dance to a ballet song with a snake on a stage that should look like one of those in the Hollywood musicals. I would wear silky pink stockings with a lovely, lacy cancan dress.

A song you danced to as a kid: The remixed version of Neele neele ambar par!

Music you grew up listening to: I studied in a boarding school where there wasn’t much scope for listening to music. But I loved Bryan Adams, Boyzone and Backstreet Boys.

Your first dance party with friends: I started partying when I was in Class IX! Underground used to be Winning Streak then and I would often catch the Saturday jam sessions. But I had to be back home by 8pm.

Any dance training? I trained with the Mamata Shankar Ballet Troupe for a year.

One thing you need in order to dance on screen: Confidence. Even bad dancers look good if they are confident.

One Bolly song you would love to dance to on screen: Main talli ho gayee. I loved Mallika Sherawat in the song.

One place where you like dancing: Nightclubs. I love loud music, low lights and the whole ambience.

Tracks you love grooving to these days: Low by Florida and Womaniser by Britney Spears.

Your dancing dress code: Anything.

You like dancing with: Myself. I don’t enjoy dancing with guys. I am only comfortable with close friends.

Your dream dance scenario: It would be with Salman Khan on the moon. I would wear clothes, of course, and I would shake a leg to any song he wants.

PRIYANKA

Songs you danced to as a kid: I remember dancing to Akashbhara surjotara at my school function. I was a fat kid and nobody was interested in watching me dance!

Music you grew up listening to: I would listen to the radio a lot. Also, film songs. Euphoria and Chandrabindoo were my favourites.

Your first dance party with friends: I danced with Rahul at the Anandalok Awards party.

Any dance training? I learnt Bharatnatyam for a year.

One thing you need in order to dance on screen: Confidence and good memory. I always forget my steps.

One Bolly song you would love to dance to on screen: Aye bachchu from Ghajini.

One place where you like dancing: Home. I don’t go to nightclubs.

Tracks you love grooving to these days: Emotional atyachaar from Dev D and any salsa song.

Your dancing dress code: A salsa dress.

Do you like to drink/smoke during a dance session? Yes, maybe one or two pegs before hitting the floor.

You like dancing with: Rahul. But neither of us is a very confident dancer!

Your dream dance scenario: I would love to dance with Rahul in a salsa dress with salsa music at home.

Songs you danced to as a kid: Oye oye from Tridev and Madhuri Dixit’s Ek do teen number from Tezaab.

Music you grew up listening to: Rabindrasangeet, classical music and soft rock. I loved Enigma and a band called Smokie.

Your first dance party with friends: I live in a joint family, so house parties were quite a regular affair. But once, my cousins and I had thrown a party on a Valentine’s Day. We had no dates but we danced like crazy!

Any dance training? Yes, contemporary dance. I began training with Mamata Shankar Ballet Troupe at age four.

One thing you need in order to dance on screen: Good music. Also, the choreographer shouldn’t restrict me to a particular movement. Spontaneity is very important.

Your best dance on screen: I had dressed up as a deer in one of the episodes of ETV Bangla’s Ritur Mela Jhoom Tara Ra Ra. The steps were very easy but I got loads of compliments!

One Bolly song you would love to dance to on screen: Humko aajkal hai intezaar, which Madhuri Dixit had danced to in Sailaab. I have always dreamt of dancing to this track.

One place where you like dancing: On the stage in front of a live audience.

Tracks you love grooving to these days: Emotional atyachaar from Dev D and any other track from the film.

Your dancing dress code: Something body-hugging that would complement my figure.

Do you like to drink/smoke during a dance session? No. I occasionally sip red wine.

You like dancing with: Someone as crazy as me!

Your dream dance scenario: With Michael Jackson in a graveyard! I would wear a metallic dress with red contact lens and dance to Jackson’s Thriller.

PAMELA

Songs you danced to as a kid: Nirma! Nirma! Washing powder nirma.... That’s the song I loved dancing to!

Music you grew up listening to: Pak chik pak raja babu from Raja Babu, Maini mai from Hum Aapke Hain Koun...!, Main to raste se ja raha tha, Bholi bhali ladki, Carol and Mysterious girl.

Your first dance party with friends: It wasn’t really a party but when I was in Class VI our teacher was absent and we all started singing Humma humma from Bombay. It was quite crazy!

Any dance training? No, but I make it a point to pick up the latest Bollywood steps at home in front of the mirror.

One thing you need in order to dance on screen: Good music.

Your best dance on screen: It was for an album by Babul Supriyo.

One Bolly song you would love to dance to on screen: Most peppy songs that Madhuri Dixit has danced to, like Choli ke peechhe, Didi tera dewar, Athra baras ki.

One place where you like dancing: Anywhere. Any place that has positive energy and good people is perfect. I often dance while walking on the road with my iPod on!

Tracks you love grooving to these days: All Madhuri Dixit numbers.

Your dancing dress code: No heels.

Do you like to drink/smoke during a dance session? No, dancing gives me a high. I don’t need alchohol.

You like dancing with: I don’t like clinging to anyone while dancing. I love to dance alone or with my friend Pooja Gupta.

Your dream dance scenario: With Farhan Akhtar, Shah Rukh Khan and Prabhudeva on the beach. I will wear a typical lehenga choli, dupatta and loads of junk jewellery. I would love to groove to It must have been love...

ARUNIMA

Songs you danced to as a kid: Ek do teen from Tezaab and Aaj na chhorunga tujhe from Dil.

Music you grew up listening to: Oh, I would listen to Bengali tracks, like Aar koto raat eka thakbo and Aaj ei dintake moner khataay.

Your first dance party with friends: When I was in school, we had a get-together at a friend’s place where I danced to Sridevi numbers from Chaalbaaz and Guru, Jeetendra’s Tathaiya tathaiya and Tu cheez badi hai mast.

Any dance training? I am a trained Bharatnatyam dancer.

One thing you need in order to dance on screen: All you need is confidence and rhythm.

Your best dance on screen: I had done an item number in the film Sangram. But my best is yet to come.

One Bolly song you would love to dance to on screen: Teri or, Mera piya ghar aaya and also Ek do teen.

One place where you like dancing: At home. I am a crazy Sagittarian, full of life. The beat of the dhak is enough to make me dance!

Tracks you love grooving to these days: Mauja hi mauja from Jab We Met and Race sanson ki from Race.

Your dancing dress code: Jeans and top.

You like dancing with: I love dancing alone and I hate to dance with men. I sometimes dance with my close friends, who all happen to be girls!

Your dream dance scenario: I would love to dance with Farhan Akhtar even though he isn’t a great dancer. I will teach him some steps. I would like to dance to Teri or with him in Egypt, wearing a chiffon sari.

Songs you danced to as a kid: Zara sa jhoom loon from Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge.

Music you grew up listening to: Bollywood tracks, mostly dance numbers.

Your first dance party with friends: I had danced to Bidi jalaile at a college fest.

Any dance training? I was training in Bharatnatyam but left midway.

One thing you need in order to dance on screen: I think you just need to love dancing.

Your best dance on screen: I have done a Shakira-like belly dance in Challenge!

One Bolly song you would love to dance to on screen: Crazy kiya re from Dhoom:2 and Bidi jalaile from Omkara.

One place where you like dancing: At home. But while shooting for Challenge in Hyderabad, we had all gone to a nightclub and I danced non-stop for hours!

Tracks you love grooving to these days: Bhaja Gourango from my film Challenge and Aa dekhen zara.

Your dancing dress code: Jeans and T-shirt.

You like dancing with: I don’t need anyone because when I dance I like everyone to watch me.

Your dream dance scenario: It would be with Shah Rukh Khan on the terrace of my house. I would wear a gown and dance to a track that’s composed only for the two of us.

Songs you danced to as a kid: As a kid, only Phule phule dhole dhole. As a teenager, I have danced to Jaanam samjha karo crazily.

Music you grew up listening to: Mostly Bollywood.

Your first dance party with friends: After I got admitted to Lakshmipat Singhania School, I danced with guys for the first time at the Socials and I was super-excited!

Any dance training? I have trained in Bharatnatyam and Kathak.

One thing you need in order to dance on screen: Good music.

Your best dance on screen: I wasn’t really dancing in the last song of Bow Barracks Forever, but it’s close to my heart. Also, the Celebrity song from Jackpot.

One Bolly song you would love to dance to on screen: It’s a long list. Que sera sera from Pukar, Dola re from Devdas and Mujhko hui na khabar from Dil To Pagal Hai.

One place where you like dancing: At friends’ places when we all get together. But I am a crazy dancer, so maybe in the middle of the night I would switch on the TV and start dancing.

Two tracks you love grooving to these days: Aa dekhen zara from the film Aa Dekhen Zara and all the item songs in Billu.

Your dancing dress code: Jeans and T-shirt.

You like dancing with: Myself and sometimes with my mom (Nandini).

Your dream dance scenario: With Hrithik Roshan. I would groove to any peppy track from his films, in jeans and T-shirt.
