Srijit Mukherji, captivated by the innocence and love portrayed by Mithun Chakraborty and Anumegha Kahali as Mini, lauded Ghosh’s directorial finesse. He said: “I loved it a lot. It is highly recommended. Classic revisits have their disadvantages with constant comparisons to stalwarts like Tapan Sinha, Chhabi Biswas, and Balraj Sahni. I believe Suman has done full justice to it.”

Director Kaushik Ganguly declared Kabuliwala as one of Ghosh’s finest works. He emphasised, “Mithunda’s portrayal of Rahmat is nothing short of a treat for the soul. The grand vision of the film has left me, along with everyone else, utterly spellbound.”

Debasree Roy echoed the sentiments, saying, “The portrayal of emotions and relationships in Kabuliwala is truly commendable. Suman Ghosh has crafted it with love, and Mithun Chakraborty’s performance is exceptional, resonating with the soul of the character.”
