Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader Tejashwi Prasad Yadav asserted on Thursday that the three mehboobas (beloveds) of Prime Minister Narendra Modi have led to his fall in the poll.

He also slammed him for indulging in a publicity gimmick in the name of meditating on the Vivekananda Rock Memorial at Kanyakumari.

Meanwhile, Tejashwi’s mother and former Bihar chief minister Rabri Devi claimed on Thursday that INDIA (Indian National Developmental Inclusive Alliance) will sweep the poll and its members will sit together after June 4 to decide on the new Prime Minister.

The two leaders interacted with media persons on the last day of campaigning in the ongoing Lok Sabha election, which ends on June 1.

“The INDIA bloc will win more than 300 seats this time and will form the government. Modi ji’s three mehboobas (beloveds), whom he loves the most, are leading to his defeat in the poll. The first mehbooba is unemployment, the second mehbooba is poverty and the third is inflation,” Tejashwi told reporters while embarking on the last of his public rallies.

He will wind up his campaign in the evening by addressing his 251st rally at Maner in the Patliputra Lok Sabha constituency, from where his eldest sister Misa Bharti is contesting. He has achieved the feat despite being wheelchair-bound since the beginning of this month due to acute backache.

Tejashwi pointed out that chief minister Nitish Kumar has not come out to campaign ever since he (Tejashwi) claimed that he (Nitish) could take some big decision to save the Janata Dal United (JDU).

“The governor is overseeing the administration and conducting review meetings with government officials. The JDU is focusing on the seats it is contesting, while the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is concentrating on its own seats. These things and differences indicate that something big is going to happen after June 4,” Tejashwi added.

Speaking at a public rally last week, Tejashwi had hinted that Nitish was again contemplating a somersault after the Lok Sabha poll.

Reacting to questions on Modi’s visit to the Vivekananda Rock Memorial, the RJD leader said: “He is going there for marketing, getting photographed, and to take part in shooting. He was getting clicked inside a cave last time. He is going to Kanyakumari this time. I appeal to the Prime Minister to ban the media and cameras and then go there to meditate. He should not bring obstacles into meditation.”

Rabri also pressed in her might to canvass for Misa on the last day of campaigning and moved across the Patliputra constituency seeking votes for her.

Asked about Modi’s threat to send the people involved in robbing Bihar to jail, Rabri said: “Neither the RJD nor the people of Bihar are afraid of his threats and bandar-bhabhki (monkey-bluster). The elections have been fought on the issues of development, unemployment, inflation, increasing the income of farmers among others.”

Asserting that INDIA was winning all 40 seats in Bihar, Rabri added that the public in the country has changed.

“INDIA is going to form the government in the country. It will win more than 300 seats. Its leaders will sit together and decide who will be the new Prime Minister,” she said before carrying ahead with the campaign.

Eight seats in Bihar — Nalanda, Patna Sahib, Patliputra, Arrah, Buxar, Sasaram, Karakat and Jehanabad — are going to poll on June 1.
